Warehouse Forklift Operator

Position Description:

• Drives powered industrial truck equipment with lifting devices such as forklift and push/pull.
• Move products or materials by pushing, pulling, lifting, and stacking. Responsible for pulling all bulk product in support of repack.
• Return all finished case product to designated location in the freezer. Ensure all paperwork is filled out neatly and accurately.
Duties:
• Check the equipment on a daily basis, and report all unserviceable equipment to the Warehouse Lead, Shift Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or Maintenance. Inspect forklift prior to start of shift, and ensure battery is charged at end of shift.
• Pull and put product away (bulk and case) in a timely and efficient manner in the freezer, and ensure locations are correct. Also note and remove any damaged product.
• Weigh material and product, recording weight totals on bin tags and corresponding locations on the tally sheets. Paperwork needs to be complete, accurate and legible.
• Load and unload trucks and rails either by push-pull or forklift, and ensure weight is dispensed evenly on outbound load.
• Count and check orders prior to loading and unloading trucks or rails.
• Maintain the warehouse, docks, repack, and plant grounds in a neat and orderly manner by sweeping, picking up wrap and broken boards, and slipsheets. Keep stacks of pallets, sideboards, and corner irons neat and orderly.
• Pull all bulk product by the lot number annotated on pull sheet.
• Ensure finished case product is stacked correctly, and provide finished pallets with stretch wrap and pallet number.
• Fill out paperwork for relocations and spill reports thoroughly, accurately and neatly. Note all relevant information associated with damaged or spilled items and take product to the appropriate area.
• Change out batteries. Ensure that batteries are properly charged and handled.
• Assist in the clean-up of spilled bulk and case product in the freezers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
Must have high school diploma or GED, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to communicate verbally with management and truck drivers, as well as fill out required paperwork in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to obtain OSHA Forklift Certification.
Physical Environment Factors:
Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Production Laborer

Position Description:

Responsible for performing all duties in the repack department. These duties include but are not limited to tote-bin breakdown, case stacking, product casing, case forming and clean-up
Duties:
• Maintain a clean and safe work station by properly sweeping up and disposing of all waste product, wood, cardboard and packaging material.
• Maintain a constant supply of cases for the product.
• Inspect the finished product to ensure proper quality, and then put the correct number of bags in each case.
• Stack each finished case in the tie and height pattern assigned to that item
• Breakdown, stack and band the empty bulk bins for shipment to other facilities.
• Follow all safety guidelines set forth by company and plant policies and managers.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be able to read or interpret documents such as safety rules/ signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Permit
Physical Environment Factors:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 85 pounds and be able to stand for prolonged periods. Must be able to withstand working for long periods of time in a cold, damp environment.
